Abolition Corner: Debunking Tough-On-Crime Rhetoric

Abolition Corner is a companion space to Initiate Justice’s podcast, Abolition is for Everybody. This is a more community-based environment to ask your questions, share your thoughts, or listen to others talk about abolition.  Each session is facilitated around a common myth about incarceration. We address that and related ideas through a short presentation and friendly, open conversation.  All are welcome!

This month: We’ll debunk tough-on-crime era rhetoric like  “If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime” and “People need to take personal responsibility for their actions.”
